Using funds donated by the Alex Grose Memorial Fund, the double zip wire was constructed.
Central site purchased (3 acres) for 75 pounds and 15,000 dressed bricks bought from J.S.Plant Builders. Consisted of a derelict Hall, ruined coach house, stables, gatehouse, greenhouses, summer house and ice house.
The cabin was built at a cost of £11,000. Formally opened in May 1982.
The bottom carpark was constructed. Also, the “Go A Million Camp” was held where 699 people (from 17 groups) attended.
Gate house reconstructed, with kitchen and troop room, stairs and upstairs wardens room.
St Thomas Church bought for £10. Refurbished with new roof.
The old toilet block was built – this is now the rifle range!
